Gaboon Ebony Snare Drum

$1,995.00

Gaboon ebony heartwood is notable for its jet-black color with very few, if any, spots or grains of gray or brown. It is one of the most expensive woods in the world and I have never personally seen another drum made entirely of Gaboon ebony.

It is a very dense wood and this snare has a nice crack and a warm sound. It has a wide tuning range and great sensitivity. This 14 x 6” snare is my favorite snare that I’ve made. It sounds as great as it looks.

All hardware is black nickel, including the DW Mag throw off/3 position butt plate and 3 mm triple flanged hoops. Bearing edges are 45 degrees with an 1/8” roundover and wide, shallow snare beds. It comes equipped with Evans heads and PureSound 30 strand snares.
