Segmented Marblewood and Bloodwood Snare Drum

$1,449.00

A segmented drum is made of multiple rings or segments with the grain running horizontally instead of vertically like a typical stave snare. It is a very sturdy construction method that requires painstaking precision (and a fair amount of patience) which results in a visually stunning drum that is very punchy, while still retaining  great sensitivity and a wide tuning range.

This snare was constructed with marblewood and bloodwood. Marblewood is a golden-colored wood with unusual dark brown to black swirled figuring. Bloodwood is a deep crimson color with a striking luster. Both are very dense woods that sound great together and polish well, creating a beautiful drum with horizontal stripes.

This 5.25 x 14” snare has chrome hardware, including the DW Mag throw off/ 5 position butt plate and 3 mm triple flanged hoops. Bearing edges are 45 degrees with an 1/8” roundover and wide, shallow snare beds. It comes equipped with Evans heads and PureSound 30 strand snares.
